As you may know there are many paople who are really into the theory. They give us thousands of evidences that we should change something but there are really few who give us the tool to deal with that chaos in the classrooms and in the students brains. I don't claim that it's bad. Thanks to them Coach B. got to know about Brock's and Wernick's area and developed his method of Whole Brain Teaching.
Here I give you the excerpt of an interviev with Gerald Hüther, Prof. for Neurobiology, Head of the Center for Neurobiology Prevention Research, University of Göttingen and Mannheim/Heidelberg.
The interviever was Marzena Zylinska, PhD for Dydactics, Lecturer in Foreign Languages Teacher's College in Torun, Poland.

MZ: - Do we know enough about the brain to change the educational system?
GH- Neuroscience has made
great progress over the last 20 years . Thus we know that the current school concept is flawed. Brain development is not determined genetically, we have no control of its development programs. With further research we understood that we are dealing with selforganizational processes. Neural connections in the brain dependent on experience. Therefore, every child is different and unique, and each has inherent potential, which we do not even suspect. To develop this potential the child must have role models, a sense of belonging and security, and still has to face new challenges. Everything that happens as a result of pressure, stress or fear, has a negative impact on its development. Learning process can not be forced from the outside.

Hope I'll find more you'll be the first to check.

What are your thoughts on...
neurodydactics?
do you find it useful of just pure theory?
have you ever searched for more about how your students learn and what to change in your approach to teaching?

Give me a sign of life Dear friends...

  1. Thanks for sharing, Anna! This highlights again the importance of activating the Limbic System in our students and in ourselves! The brain truly is amazing!

  2. It is true with the neuroscience. Even in economics there is theory about it. The beginning of everything is in our head - mind.
